As part of its Scottish expansion plans UK mobile crane rental major Ainscough Crane Hire has opened a depot in Dundee.

Dundee is on Scotland’s east coast, north of Edinburgh and it will mean “Ainscough’s team will be able to reach all major populations in Scotland easily,” the company said. An official opening event saw Ainscough customers, including Invertay Homes, Jackson Steel Structures and Taylor Wimpey mark the occasion. It follows the opening of a 27,852 square foot depot, earlier in 2019, in the Highlands between Inverness and Invergordon, primarily to cater for the wind energy industry.

In addition to the usual offer of wheeled mobile cranes, equipment from the Heavy Cranes and Transport fleet will also be stationed at the new depot.

Commenting on the new depot, Gavin Egdell, Ainscough Crane Hire regional operations manager – Scotland, said, “Opening this new depot was a wonderful way to bring a great year for Ainscough Crane Hire’s Scottish team to a close. This is our second new and improved depot in Scotland to open this year, and with more to follow in 2020 we are truly a company going from strength to strength across the country.

“The new depot will also allow us to create training and employment opportunities for local people, and provide support to the local economy though our work with local businesses. I look forward to working with current and new clients on many exciting projects throughout the year.”

Mike D’Arcy, company director at Jackson Steel Structures, said, “As a day-to-day customer, it’s pretty vital that we have a Dundee crane depot to service local jobs without having to bring in cranes from further afield. The new depot looks great and liaising with the local team will further enhance the brilliant service that Ainscough already provide for us.”
