From short- to long-term rentals, Sarens is always there to support our clients

Sarens is always ready to assist clients on rental projects big and small, long-term or short-term. In this case, Sarens deployed an LTM 1300 6.2 crane to support client Old Oak with a short-term precast installation project in London, Ontario.
The precast, intended for a mid-rise residential building, was manufactured outside of engineered specs and outside of the client’s tower crane capacity. That’s when they turned to us for a solution, knowing they could trust our expertise and variety of crane offerings.
To make this rental project a success, Sarens discussed mobilisation in detail, taking into account the substantial ramp leading to the construction site. Extra matting was provided for the crane, which was configured with a 160-feet main boom.
Because the crane was already in town, it was a straightforward operation to deliver it and then assemble it in two hours. Setting the matting, however, was a challenge as the crane had to be set up on the entry ramp.
Over the course of one summer day, the crane lifted the 23,000-pound precast slab, which measured 135 feet high with a 53-foot radius.
The main challenge for the four crew members was the final location of the slab, directly in front of the tower crane, as well as the set-up location on the steep slope. The tower crane therefore had to be moved in conjunction with Sarens’ mobile crane to avoid a midair collision with the load.
Sarens is pleased to have helped our client, Old Oak, with this operation and wishes them the best as they complete this project.
