SC&RA's publishing partner KHL Group has begun production on a new coffee table book that will commemorate SC&RA's Jobs of the Year awards program. Started in 1965, the JOY awards have become a highly revered program in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industry.

To be published in the spring of 2013, the book will provide a compelling account of almost 50 years of the most amazing feats ever accomplished in the realm of specialized transport, rigging and lifting. Every winner of the SC&RA Job of the Year contest will be featured in the book - details about more than 200 incredible jobs performed around the world from 1964 through 2011.

Destined to become an industry classic, the book will chronicle the major milestones in the modern history of the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industries, focusing on the people, engineering and equipment that made these jobs possible.

Crane, rigging and transport industry companies will have the opportunity to underwrite the Jobs of the Year book through corporate profiles.

"Profiles are open to all member firms that have participated in the SC&RA Job of the Year contests - as a winner or entrant or as a supplier of equipment, expertise or services to winning or entered jobs," said Trevor Pease, president and publisher of KHL Americas.

"The book and profile chapters will be written by professional construction industry writers experienced in covering the specialized transportation, lifting and rigging industry. We are looking forward to producing a beautifully designed and edited book with lasting appeal for generations to come."

SC&RA JOY awards have been presented to companies that have accomplished magnanimous feats of lifting, moving, rigging and hauling, and this book will serve as a lasting tribute to the industry, including winners, non-winners and future winners. For more information about the book or profiles please contact Bev O'Dell at [email protected] or Pat Sharkey at [email protected]. Profile deadline reservation is fall 2012.
