Crane rental specialist Emerson Crane Hire in the south east UK has added a second 230 tonne capacity LTM 1230-5.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane from Liebherr.

It is one of four new cranes recently ordered from the manufacturer’s Ehingen factory in Germany.

Commenting on the latest addition Wayne Carr, Emerson Crane Hire sales and operations director, said, “We are delighted to announce the arrival of our second Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1, reinforcing our commitment to cutting-edge technology and industry-leading equipment for our operators and customers.

“Following the remarkable success of our first LTM 1230-5.1, this latest investment further enhances our capabilities, ensuring efficiency, reliability and innovation in every project we undertake, we see this addition as a key step in delivering outstanding service and maintaining our position at the forefront of the industry.”

More than a 230

One of the other cranes on order is a 400 tonne capacity LTM 1400-6.1 on a six axle carrier and the first of its kind in the UK. The others are the new 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.4.

The full specification LTM 1230-5.1 includes VarioBase Plus, VarioBallast and Remote Control to operate all superstructure functions. An 11.5 to 20 metre offsettable fly jib can be added to the 75 metre boom and three inserts, each of 7 metres, can be added between the extension and the boom nose to increase maximum hoist height to 111 metres. Maximum radius is then 86 metres.

Edward Clancy started Emerson Crane Hire in 1991. In addition to wheeled mobile telescopic cranes up to 450 tonnes, the fleet includes crawler, spider and mobile folding tower cranes.
