Jumbo loads two LHM-800 harbour cranes
18 July 2016
Heavy lift shipping and offshore transportation and installation contractor Jumbo has used its Fairline vessel to load two LHM-800 harbour cranes, said by manufacturer Liebherr to be the most powerful mobile harbour cranes in the world.
Fairlane is a vessel from Jumbo's H-class family, which is relatively small in length but very powerful - able to lift impressive cargoes up to 800 tonnes. Jumbo and Liebherr have been working together for several years and Jumbo has safely transported multiple cranes for the manufacturer, it said.
The two LHM-800 cranes have been extended in order to be able to unload the largest modern container ships available in the world, the company said: the Post-Panamax vessels. Each crane weighs 490 tonnes and is 57.4 metres in height. The loading operation of the two cranes took place in Rostock, Germany and both cranes are destined for Montevideo in Uruguay.
