Foselev adds seven new Grove cranes
15 July 2024
French crane rental specialist Foselev has added seven new Grove wheeled mobile cranes to its fleet.
The new three, four, and five-axle all terrains are among more than 100 Groves in the 450 unit total rental fleet, one of Europe’s largest. Foselev has been buying Groves since 1995.
The company said it chose the Groves for their long booms, compact footprint, roadability and an ability to work across all sorts of industrial applications.
“Grove cranes are one of the foundations of our fleet; we enjoy using them, and we particularly like their variety of long booms and configurations. The cranes can easily put in 1,200 hours a year. The people we work with at Grove are fantastic, and we get excellent customer service. There are over 100 Grove cranes in our fleet, and we expect that number to continue growing,” said Eric Stroppiana, operational director of the lifting, transport, and handling division at the Foselev Group.

Some of the new three axle models replaced two axle units, giving an immediate boost to the capacity of the fleet. The three-axle GMK3060L-1 is a 60 tonne capacity model on a compact, 8.67 metre carrier. It has a 48 metre boom and up to 7.5 tonnes of counterweight.
Next is the four-axle, 100 tonne capacity GMK4100L-2. The manufacturer tags it as having the best load charts in its class. It can carry 6.8 tonnes of counterweight within the 12 tonnes per axle load limit.
Largest of the cranes in the latest order was the 120 tonne capacity GMK5120L on a five axle carrier. It has a 66 metre telescopic boom. As a taxi crane it can carry 14.6 tonnes of counterweight at 12 tonnes per axle, or 3.1 tonnes at 10 tonnes per axle.
Foselev is based in Aix-en-Provence, in south central France. It works in the construction, industrial, nuclear, and energy sectors, across the country and further afield.
