In Memoriam: William “Bill” Odell Grubb, 1952-2024

William Grubb, February 4, 1952 – November 19, 2024

William “Bill” Odell Grubb, 72, of Quinton, VA, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 4, 1952, to Doris and William Odell Grubb, Bill grew up as one of many siblings in a close-knit family, embodying the values of warmth, generosity and hard work that defined his life.

Bill served six years in the Army National Guard, leaving in 1977 after an honorable discharge. He then turned his focus to his family’s business, W.O. Grubb Crane Rental, which he purchased from his father in 1985. Under his leadership, the company has thrived, becoming a leading name in the crane rental industry. Bill’s dedication to honesty and integrity left an indelible mark on both the company and the industry.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Grubb; his son, Kevin Grubb; his granddaughter, Rylee Grubb-Solaimani; and many other beloved family members. He is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Michelle Grubb and Wayne Grubb (Holli); Lindsay Nichols (Charlie) and Kolden Buehler (Taylor); his grandchildren, Galloway, Della, Jordin, Scarlett, Alivia, Taryn, Reygan, Hudson, and Liam.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the New Kent Sheriff’s Office in Bill’s honor.
