With the majority of the construction work complete at the London 2012 Olympic site, the landscapers are moving in, but there are still a few jobs to be completed with the assistance of access equipment, including the construction of the futuristic steel sculpture, The ArcelorMittal Orbit

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is a 115m high structure costing £ 19.1 million and designed by Turner Prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor.

The London ODA (Olympic Delivery Authority) appointed two rental consortia to provide equipment on the £5.5 billion construction project.

The Hire Alliance, which includes A-Plant, works on the south part of the site of the site and a second consortium called Construction Site Solutions - comprising Speedy Hire, Lavendon, BSS Group and Hewden - is operating on the North of the site.

The North section of the site includes the main Olympic stadium, the aquatics centre and the Orbit. As well as being an impressive focal point The ArcelorMittal Orbit will also include a viewing platform and, it is rumoured, a restaurant.

The south part of the site encompasses the basketball centre, the velodrome, the media centre and the copper-clad handball courts.
