With Speedy Lifting announcing the general purchase of UK- based Lifting Gear Hire Group (LGHG), many in the industry have wondered the effect the sale will have on Lifting Gear Hire Corp.'s US operations. The answer is that the sale may create opportunities for expansion for the US company.

Although the name and logo were the same, LGHC in the US has always been a separate division of LGH Group with regards to their internal departments and financial backing.

“This is a great opportunity for LGH in the US,” said Tony Fiscelli, general manager of LGH's US operation. “The Parkinson family has maintained this area of the business for a very good reason - its growth. This year alone, LGH USA has invested well over $2 million dollars in rental inventory and this number will only continue to grow in the years to come with the amount of business we project.”

With this move, LGH USA will be able to focus on new markets, branch openings and adding additional staff to an organization that has seen tremendous growth since it started in 1990.

“This sale will allow for more resources to be invested back into the US portion of the business,” Fiscelli said. “Couple this with the recent expansion of our main office in Bridgeview, and we have a great formula for success.”

LGHC stocks more than 50,000 pieces of lifting equipment available for rental.
