Southern Crane, a division of Southern Industrial Constructors, used six cranes simultaneously to help erect a building in Florence, South Carolina. The upper roof structure, which weighed 42,000 pounds, was held 35 feet in the air while the main support columns were bolted into place. Low Country Erectors contracted Southern Crane to engineer the lifts and provide all lift plans. Each crane picked around 7,000 pounds and it took about eight hours to secure the roof before the cranes could be cut loose. The six truck cranes were a pair of Grove TMS 900Es, three Terex T560s, and a Link-Belt HTC8650 series 2.
