CICB adds self-erecting tower crane to Houston training center

CICB has expanded its hands-on training capabilities with the addition of a Potain IGO MA21 self-erecting tower crane at its training center in Deer Park, TX, just outside Houston. The new crane will be used to deliver practical instruction and facilitate NCCCO Tower Crane certification exams.

The move reflects growing demand for certified tower crane operators across construction, industrial and manufacturing sectors. The IGO MA21 will allow students to gain real-world experience under the supervision of CICB’s CCO-certified instructors, while training remains aligned with OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and ASME B30.3 standards.

“The addition of tower crane training and CCO Exams will help address labor shortages in key sectors like construction and manufacturing,” said John O’Connor, Texas operations manager, CICB. “This investment will create more opportunities for workers to level up their skills and for businesses to find the highly skilled workers they need to grow.”
