DSC shows off its new Terex AC 500-2 All Terrain Crane

Pensacola, USA-based Deep South Crane Rentals has taken delivery of its largest crane yet – a 600 US ton (540 tonne) capacity Terex AC 500-2 all terrain crane. It was purchased from Terex distributor Renegar-Driggers.

DSC’s vice president, Jimmy White, said that the AC 500-2 was chosen for its excellent lifting charts and travel weights, and for its high performance luffing jib.

White commented, “This latest investment means we now have the capacity and flexibility to lift bigger and heavier loads within our 400-mile [640 km] operating radius. It fills a gap in the market and gives us a competitive advantage which is borne out by the fact that we are already quoting for this machine on a daily basis.”

The crane is already commissioned for its first lift, which will see it lift and position a 159,000 pound (74 tonne) boiler at a radius of 59 feet (18 metres) at a new hydrogen plant in Pensacola for Ascend Performance Materials.
