Japanese crane and transport specialist Denzai KK has added yet another acquisition to its portfolio.

Denzai acquired Daiei Construction Corporation, a construction, transport, and heavy lifting service provider on 6 December for an undisclosed sum.

Daiei has been operating in Hiroshima for more than 50 years. Its latest addition gives Denzai 13 locations in Japan and offices in 11 countries around the world. The company employs 27 people and the Daiei name will also be retained.

At the end of August Denzai acquired fellow Japanese lifting and transport specialist Kurogane Corporation, based in Kyushu.

Building a network

Commenting on his company’s latest addition Kohki Uemura, Denzai KK president and CEO said, “Daiei Construction Corporation is located in a position to connect the cities of Kobe, Izumo and Kitakyushu, which have joined the Denzai Group so far. Kasaoka City in Hiroshima Prefecture will be the location of a major manufacturing base for monopiles, the basic structure of offshore wind turbines, and we hope to create synergies by combining the network of Daiei Construction Corporation with the plentiful resources of the Denzai Group.”

Since 1971 Daiei has provided construction services in Fukuyama and the wider Hiroshima prefecture. Its equipment fleet includes all terrain wheeled mobile and crawler cranes. The heavy haul transport division was set up in 1983.
