Family-run Hermans specializes in industrial relocation, mainly in Germany and in the Netherlands from its four depots. Jos Hermans, who took over as managing director in 2007, remains managing director at the newly acquired business.

The acquisition will strengthen Felbermayr in Western Europe. Commenting on the deal CEO Horst Felbermayr said, “Close to our site in Krefeld, Hermans’ warehousing and machine assembly business complements our service portfolio very well. We are delighted that the existing team will remain on board and that Jos Hermans will continue to contribute his experience and expertise as managing director.”

Jozef Hermans relocates machinery, production lines and entire companies. Its specialist expertise with machinery and systems helps guarantee professional specialized transport operations. Headquartered in Venlo, it has 12 employees and has been operating for more than 85 years.

The fleet includes about 12 cranes, several trucks, lifting and hoisting systems, plus self propelled transport units and semi-trailers. “We have electric, remote-controlled forklift trucks, pick and carry cranes, transport rollers, flat transport carriages and telescopic hydraulic gantry systems that can lift, move or tilt machinery and objects weighing up to 1,100 tonnes in their entirety – and in the tightest of spaces,” Jos Hermans said.

“If required, we can also develop and build accessories that will ensure the company relocation runs smoothly,” continued Hermans.

For his part Peter Stöttinger, Felbermayr Transport and Lifting Technology managing director, said, “The wide range of assembly equipment, electrically powered pick and carry cranes, and lifting frames, not to mention decades of experience in heavy installation and the company’s geographical location on the Dutch-German border, including a heavy goods warehouse, complement the Felbermayr Group’s service portfolio perfectly.”

In more detail Stöttinger continued, “In particular, we will be utilising the synergies with the Felbermayr site in Krefeld and our subsidiary Wimmer Maschinentransporte.”

Felbermayr operates in specialized transport, mobile crane and working platform rental, heavy lift handling, plus civil engineering, hydraulic engineering and structural engineering. Headquartered in Wels, it now has 82 sites in 17 European countries. The group has 3,200 employees and in 2023 posted a turnover of €720 million.
