Loader crane manufacturer Fassi added to its range with a new Techno series model boasting nine hydraulic extensions.

The new F1750R.2.9 HXP Techno is a 132 tonne-metre-rated model bristling with technological features. It expands the range of operating possibilities and is testament to technological leadership in the sector, the Italian manufacturer said.

Its extra extensions allow load handling at longer reach without increasing the required space for installation. It was first shown at the Transport.ch trade show in Bern by Swiss Fassi distributor Mobas.

Standard outreach of the new nine extension model is 21.60 metres. Adding the L626 jib takes that to 33.30 metres without increasing dimensions over the eight-extension version, Fassi said. A winch and semi-permanent pulleys can also be specified, designed to allow the crane to be fully folded with the winch cable still installed.

High spec

This new model offers continuous slewing and has the ProLink double linkage design to increase boom travel and manoeuvrability. It also has the XP device to deliver more power when needed.

The FX990 control system on the Techno models digitally monitors and manages load and stability parameters to maximise capability and deliver smooth motion.

In terms of structure, the new crane’s extensions have the decagonal X-Design profile designed to reduce weight and improve force distribution between the boom guide and crossbeam. Performance is increased by up to 57 per cent over traditional hexagonal profiles, Fassi said. For easier maintenance this design allows access to the guides without having to dismantle the booms.
