Manufacturer Liebherr’s LTR 1150 telescopic crawler crane had its world premiere at the Intermat exhibition in Paris, France, starting on 24 April.

The new 150 tonne capacity model offers 50 per cent more load capacity than the 100 tonne capacity LTR 1100, its next nearest sibling, capacity-wise, in the range.

In a first for the telescopic crawler crane series, this new 150 includes Liebherr’s VarioBase system. Taking readings from sensors and feeding them into the system allows the control system to determine the best possible load capacity, depending on the track width and angle of rotation of the crane in any position.

More for the same

Liebherr claims the new 150 tonner is just as easy and economical to transport as its 100 tonne sibling. With the undercarriage it comes in at a total weight of 60 tonnes and a transport width of 3.5 metres. Removing the undercarriage changes the unit load weight to 38 tonnes and transport width to 3.0 metres.

It is one of around 20 machines and a host of technology on display from Liebherr at its 3,264 square metre trade stand. Other product segments represented will be tower, mobile and crawler cranes, components, earth moving technology, deep foundation machines and concrete technology.
