Crane manufacturer Terex Franna is offering a new 15 tonne capacity pick and carry crane especially for the Indian market.
The Franna Champion (FR15 XSi) was first shown at the Bauma ConExpo India trade show in September. It is designed to meet the evolving needs of the Indian market which are “focused on productivity, manoeuvrability, safety and operational efficiency,” the manufacturer said.
Stability and mobility
A key feature of this type of crane is its ability to travel with a load on the hook.
The 18.23 metre telescopic U-section boom is in three sections and adding the fly jib increases the length to 20.83 metres. Maximum hook height is given as 21.5 metres.
The Champion’s diesel engine meets the Indian CEV Stage V (aligned with European Stage V) emission standard. Maximum speed is 49 km/h and this two axle, four wheel drive, articulated crane is 2.95 metres wide and has a 6.7 metre turning radius.
A 3.5 tonne winch and safe load indicator are standard while options include Connec-T telematics, a drag winch, toolbox and, instead of a closed cabin, an open canopy with a seat for a rigger.
