John Sutch impressed by Sany Cranes

John Sutch Cranes is a crane operator which offers lifting services from its bases in Liverpool and Manchester, both located in the north-west region of the UK.

The company is now reported to be operating the largest fleet of Sany cranes in the country, with two 60-tonne SAC600E models and a 70-tonne SAC700E.

Paul Parry, sales director at John Sutch Cranes, said: “We needed to increase the fleet. Time and time again we’ve looked at new products on the market and we thought, ‘We’ll lead the way with it. We’ll champion it.’ So, SANY was the logical choice.”

Parry added that the price of the Sany cranes was “very competitive.”

The cranes offer some interesting features, including a crabbing function. Gareth Leonard, operator of a Sany SAC600E at John Sutch Cranes, said, “”The crab as well, absolute godsend. A lot of the guys are like, ‘Are you going to get it in there?’

‘Yeah, no problem.’ And they’re quite amazed where we can fit [the crane].”

Some companies have issues with spare part delivery for cranes supplied from China. John Sutch Cranes reported that after a crane was damaged while on site, the replacement part arrived within three weeks. All for about 25% of what other companies would charge.

Parry: “Normally parts for some of the other manufacturers are astronomical. For us, it’s price of ownership. It then has to have the reliability, and at the moment, we’re getting both.”

Owing to the success of the partnership, John Sutch is now planning to visit the Sany crane factories in Huzhou and Changsha to see more of the range.
