Krank creates platform for equipment inspections

Technology firm Krank has launched Inspeq Platform, an operational platform that builds on the equipment inspection app that it introduced in April 2025.

Inspeq Platform is a “modular operational layer” that will sit alongside existing enterprise software systems, giving organisations oversight of equipment inspections, work order executions, and fleet operations.

Krank said the platform will work with existing ERP, CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) and EAM (enterprise asset management) software and will unite inspections, work order execution, sites, teams and asset intelligence into a single, real-time environment.

The UK-based company said inspections and field workflows are often “fragmented, paper-based, or disconnected” with important issues slow to reach decision-makers.

“We have developed the Inspeq Platform around what frontline teams need most on the job”, said shares Khurram Mumtaz, chief technology officer (CTO) at Krank.

“It helps them catch issues faster, assign work instantly, and deliver the right insights to the right people at the right time.”

Krank said that by integrating with existing systems rather than replacing them, the platform will remove “a major barrier to digital transformation. Teams can modernise inspections and operations without disrupting workflows or retraining their workforce.”

Supervision of remote inspections

One function within the platform is Remote Work Orders, which allows senior inspectors or highly qualified technicians to remotely conduct or oversee inspections via a live video call. It will help junior inspectors, operators, sales teams, or mechanics inspect a machine in real time.

“Remote Work Orders were developed to address a practical operational constraint: experienced inspectors cannot be everywhere at once”, said Mumtaz.

“By enabling senior technicians to conduct and oversee inspections remotely, we allow teams to complete more inspections with the same level of rigour, while reducing travel time, cost, and disruption. It changes how inspection capacity can be scaled across large, distributed operations.”

The platform also supports pre-start checks, maintenance schedules, discrepancy reporting, asset histories, and work order execution. Krank said it will give managers live visibility as work unfolds.
