Birmingham, AL-based Altec Industries has developed a new tilt cab option for its riding seat crane models. The company, known for its boom trucks and articulating cranes, said it is the first boom truck crane manufacturer to offer a tilt cab option.

Designed to offer crane operators increased vertical visibility and less neck strain during certain work applications, the new cab option allows the operator to adjust the angle of the cab from 0 to 20 degrees above horizontal, with hydraulic power, the company said.

Applications such as setting cross arms on transmission structures can be completed with significantly more ease and precision with the new cab.

Additionally, the tilt cab is located forward of the centerline of rotation, providing better horizontal visibility when rotating the crane clockwise.
