Palfinger launches PFM 1200 marine crane for aquaculture

Palfinger, a crane and lifting equipment manufacturer headquartered in Bergheim, Austria, launched the PFM 1200 marine crane, developed for service vessels and workboats operating in the aquaculture sector.

The first unit will be delivered in September 2026.
The PFM 1200 features a maximum outreach of more than 26 metres using Palfinger’s patented P-profile, and delivers a lifting capacity of 1,820 kilogrammes at maximum outreach in winch mode.
The first crane was ordered by Bergen Hydraulic for Frøy Akvaressurs, to be deployed on the service vessel Frøy Fighter. It will replace an existing Palfinger PK 150002 M, offering 4.8 metres of additional outreach at reduced overall weight while retaining the same mounting bolt pattern, avoiding the need for structural modifications to the vessel.
The PFM 1200 joins an existing PFM range comprising the PFM 1500, 2100, 2500, 3500, and 4500. Palfinger will also preview the upcoming PFM 3700 and PFM 4800 at SMM 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, running 1 to 4 September.
