Palfinger launches PK 720 TEC loader crane

Austrian manufacturer Palfinger’s new PK 720 TEC fills a gap in the top of the range TEC series of hydraulic loader cranes between the PK 580 and PK 880 TEC.

It offers a maximum load moment of 68.7 tonne-metres and an hydraulic outreach of 22 metres. Configured with nine boom extensions and a Dual Power System (DPS-C) fly jib, that reach is increased to 34.4 metres.

The P-profile boom on the TEC series is designed to combine maximum stiffness with low dead weight. Continuous slewing is another feature of this new model. Its standard outrigger spread is 8.6 metres.

Electronic assistance

Assistance systems are a key feature of the TEC series models. It has the Paltronic 180 control electronics for intelligent crane operation. The LX-6 control valve is incorporated for smooth and responsive handling.

HPSC-Plus is for stability monitoring, S-HPLS is to enhance lifting performance, and the Support Force Limit function monitors outrigger forces. The Height & Bound feature limits maximum working height and the Bound element is a working area limitation function.

There is also a new lighting system with two work lights on the articulating boom and two on the fly jib, plus LED lighting strips.
