Manitex has received US$6.2 million in new orders for its Badger and CVS cranes for delivery by mid-2013.

The Badger order is for a new 50155GT 50 US ton (45 tonne) rubber tracked crane that will be used by an international copper and gold mining company. The unit is a new product launch that combines the Manitex 50 US ton (45 tonne) boom and Badger upper crane structure.

The Badger/Manitex combo is targeted at niche mining and power line construction and maintenance sectors. It offers a maximum boom height of 200 feet (60 m) and can be used in rough terrain, such as marshes, common to mining environments.

The CVS order is a follow on order from South Africa for a fleet of new terminal tractors (previously announced on April 11, 2012), which has now reached US$8 million.
