Sarens aids rapid rebuild of Tomorrowland Mainstage after fire
15 August 2025
A fire on the opening weekend of Tomorrowland 2025 destroyed the festival’s iconic Mainstage, forcing organisers into an urgent rebuild just hours before performances were set to continue.

Sarens, already on site with telescopic cranes for the original stage build, remained in place to assist with the emergency construction. The company mobilised a fleet ranging from 70-tonne to 200-tonne capacity cranes and a team of six operators to lift and position key structural components for the replacement stage.
“We initially supported the positioning of the main stage between the end of May and early July—it was a full-time job. When we were called back to help after the last-minute disaster, we knew we had to act fast—and that we could deliver,” said Sarens crane operator Christophe Langers. “With 600,000 people counting on a great experience, canceling the event wasn’t an option.”
Through coordinated efforts between Sarens crews and Tomorrowland’s production team, the new stage was completed in time for the show to go on.
