Sarens takes delivery of XCMG cranes

A big order of all terrain, rough terrain and a crawler crane from manufacturer XCMG in China has been delivered to Sarens.

Belgium-based Sarens is the world’s second largest crane-owning company as per the globally recognized IC100 ranking. It has been going 75 years and operates in 65 countries.

XCMG Hoisting Machinery Division delivered XCA160H all terrain cranes, XCR90 rough terrain cranes and an XLC18000M crawler crane.

The deal, signed in March, includes a joint product development agreement and follows a global strategic partnership agreement signed a year before that, at the Bauma trade show in Germany.

Proving ground

Commenting on the deal Wim Sarens, Sarens CEO, said, “We are now using XCMG equipment in more than 20 countries and are very satisfied with the quality and reliability. Their cranes have proven themselves in demanding projects around the world.”

The 1,300 tonne capacity XLC18000M lattice boom crawler crane has a maximum load moment rating of 18,000 tonne-metres. A typical application is erecting large wind turbines up to 10 MW.

The five axle XCA160H all terrain lifts 160 tonnes and has a 78 metre boom. Maximum hoisting height is 103.1 metres. It has a 390 kW diesel engine to comply with the EU Stage V emission standard.

The 90 tonne capacity XCR90 rough terrain has a 48 metre boom and maximum hoisting height of 63.1 metres. Power is from a 194 kW inline six cylinder diesel engine with ZF transmission.
