Tadano delivers 100 tonne RT crane to Boskalis
14 October 2025
Boskalis strengthened its operations at its central distribution centre (CDC) in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, with the addition of a new Tadano GR-1000EX-4 rough terrain crane. The machine replaces a Tadano GR-600EXL, a workhorse at the company for more than two decades.

For 23 years, the GR-600EXL supported daily logistics at the CDC, handling everything from small consumables to oversized equipment bound for projects around the world. The new GR-1000EX-4, delivered by Richard Beenen, Tadano sales manager, enhances those capabilities with increased lifting power and advanced safety features to manage heavier and more complex loads.
Its 50.9 metre full power boom is the longest in the 100 tonne class, Tadano said, giving the GR-1000EX-4 greater reach and radius while maintaining a compact footprint for tight workspaces.
Additional counterweight and Cummins engine further improve performance, while operator-focused upgrades such as a tilting cab and a convertible side ladder enhance visibility and safety.
“Our previous Tadano crane served us reliably for more than two decades. That proven quality was one of the key reasons we chose Tadano again,” said Chris van Wijk, Boskalis logistics manager. “With the GR-1000EX-4, we are confident we can continue to work safely and efficiently for many years to come.”
