Superior Rigging & Erecting, a crane, rigging, steel erection and fabrication services based in Atlanta, GA, has recently acquired Heaton Erecting, a Forest Park, GA-based company specializing in crane rental, rigging and transportation.

Expressing enthusiasm about the acquisition, Patrick Lewis, CEO of Superior Rigging & Erecting, said, “It’s an honor that Carol [former Heaton Owner/CEO] has entrusted us with continuing Heaton’s legacy. We now have two powerful brands in the Atlanta market, and together, our potential is boundless.”

With this acquisition, Heaton’s customers will gain access to Superior’s range of services, including steel fabrication, millwrighting and increased storage facilities located near downtown Atlanta.

The two companies have shared a competitive yet respectful relationship for years, but their history is intertwined. Heaton Erecting has deep roots with Superior, dating back to when Heaton’s father worked his first job with the company after college.

“My dad’s first job out of college was at Superior,” recalled Heaton. “As a child, I remember Saturday mornings spent riding around with him in the Superior pickup truck, visiting various job sites. Reflecting on that history, it feels like my journey in this industry truly started with Superior.”

Heaton Erecting will continue to operate under its established name but now under the leadership of Patrick Lewis as CEO.
