Terex launches 16 tonne tower crane

Terex Tower Cranes, part of the Raimondi Group, announced a new 16 tonne capacity flat top tower crane, the CTT 392-16.

As a brand new model, it is designed to comply with the new European Machinery Regulation and the European EN14439 2025 standard.

Features include flexibility in configuration and an operator-focused design, Terex said, helping to deliver high productivity, safety and ease of operation. It is a high-end model with multiple high technology systems carrying acronyms as follows: TPP, TPM, T-Link, T-Torque and T-Zone, explained below.

Terex Power Plus gives a capacity boost of as much as 10 per cent when required. Terex power Match is an energy saving mode to reduce electricity consumption. T-Link is a telematics system giving access to the fleet data via the internet. T-Torque allows the operator to adjust the slewing speed and up/down ramps.  T-Zone is a systerm now built-in as standard to control the working area of the crane to prevent clashes with other cranes, buildings and so on.

Flexibility in configuration

Jib length can be set from 25 to 75 metres in 5 metre increments. Winches are a choice of 45, 67 or 80 kW. Tower options for the CTT 392-16 include the 1.95, 2.28, 2.3, or 2.37 metre siizes. Freestanding height is between 72.45 and 98.35 metres, according to the chosen tower size.

It has the S-pace cabin for operator comfort and good visibility, via a large glass area, plus heating, air conditioning, and an adjustable seat.

Easy erection and dismantling and simple maintenance were key elements in the design.
