Among events organized by NCCCO to coincide with ConExpo, the construction equipment show held in Las Vegas, in March, was a five–day workshop for CCO practical examiners.

Although, to protect its third–party status as an independent assessment organization, NCCCO does not train crane operators, it does provide a training program for those wishing to become authorized to administer the CCO “hands–on” examination.

More than 30 aspiring practical examiners signed up for the workshop, which offered examiner training in mobile cranes and tower cranes. Host for the event was H&E Equipment, which provided a National boom truck and a Grove rough terrain crane for the small (fixed cab) and large (swing cab) telescopic boom categories, respectively.

Essex Crane detoured its new Liebherr 855 lattice boom crawler crane from its planned route between Coastline Equipment's Sacramento facility to its first project in Canada via Las Vegas to ensure its participation in the event.

A Potain HDT 25 self–erector was supplied by Doc Bailey Construction Equipment, Inc for the tower crane portion of the workshop.
