Four crawler cranes work together in the construction of an offshore oil platform in Penglai, Shandong Province, China.

A 1,000 tonne capacity XCMG crawler crane and a 1,250 tonne capacity Terex crawler worked together in the construction of an offshore oil platform in Penglai, Shandong Province, China.

The XCMG QUY15000 and the Terex CC 6800 were supported by two 500 capacity tonne crawler cranes.

They were used in a four-crane pick and carry configuration to bring an 800 tonne offshore oil platform jacket section into position next to the jacket. The QUY15000 and CC 6800 then lifted one end of the section to 100 m where it was attached to the jacket.

First, the structure was part-lifted to a height of 30 m by the four cranes, which then carryied it 200 m - a feat that took four hours to complete.

Once the component had been moved in front of the jacket the 1,000 tonne XCMG and the 1,250 tonne Terex crawler crane lifted the component into position.
