Manufacturer and rental house Wolffkran has signed an agreement to deliver the complete tower crane package for the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia, a centerpiece venue for the 2034 FIFA football World Cup.

Officially announced in Riyadh, the project will see 21 Wolffkran tower cranes, including eight Wolff 1250B and nine Wolff 630Bs, on the challenging site perched on a cliff outside the city. Notably, one Wolff 1250B and two Wolff 630Bs will reach freestanding heights exceeding 100 metres, becoming the tallest tower cranes ever used in Saudi Arabia.

To tackle the site’s unique wind and height challenges, Wolffkran developed a new tower element, the Wolff XT 33, designed to operate safely in extreme wind conditions.

“This engineering achievement underscores Wolffkran’s ability and willingness to go the extra mile: developing new components when standard solutions are not enough,” said Dr. Peter Schiefer, owner and member of the Board of Directors of Wolffkran Holding AG.

Beyond supplying equipment, Wolffkran will handle planning, transport, assembly, operation and maintenance, supported by around 180 on-site specialists at peak times.

“We are proud to contribute to this ambitious initiative and to help shape the future of infrastructure in the Kingdom,” said Duncan Salt, CEO of Wolffkran Holding AG. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy and represents a major milestone for the crane manufacturer, both in scale and technical complexity.
