Kobelco’s new TKE750G 75 tonne capacity crawler crane

A 75 tonne capacity telescopic boom crawler crane has been shown in Paris, France, by Japanese manufacturer Kobelco Construction Machinery. The European market TKE750G (E for Europe) will be available from mid-2024.

To meet the EU engine exhaust emission requirements the new model has a Mercedes-Benz E9H01 (Daimler OM936LA) diesel engine. The straight six turbocharged unit produces 254 kW and meets the Non-Road Mobile Machinery – Europe (NRMM) EU Stage V regulation.

As a G Series crane it follows the concept of the G series lattice boom crawler crane models. Main features given by the manufacturer are “high reliability, great utilisation, and simple ease of operation by design alongside excellent durability and commonality across all the G series models.”

The maximum rated load of 75 tonnes is with 10 metres of boom, set at 3 metres radius and with the hook on 11 falls of rope. With the boom extended to 16.7 metres and set at a radius of 4.5 metres, it will lift 36 tonnes on six falls of rope. On its maximum 30.1 metre boom at 8 metres radius the capacity is 18.5 tonnes on four falls of rope.

For its domestic market Kobelco launched the 75 tonne capacity TK750G in 2017. It is a heavy duty crane suitable for piling support and auger work.

Along the same lines, the new model for Europe, with the ‘E’ in its nomenclature, has a larger more powerful engine, shorter boom, stronger winches and thicker rope than other telecrawler models only designed for lifting. Instead of a curved profile the TKE750G has a stiff, four-plate box type, full power boom designed to handle foundation work.
