Wilhelm Bruns expands lifting capabilities with Grove GMKs

Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung has added two Grove all-terrain cranes to its fleet, expanding lifting capabilities for projects across northern Germany.

German crane rental firm Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung has strengthened its fleet with two new Grove all terrain cranes, a GMK4100L-2 and a GMK5250XL-1, sourced from the Manitowoc factory in Wilhelmshaven.

The company, which operates from locations in Lüneburg and Hamburg, provides lifting services across northern Germany for the construction, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

The GMK4100L-2 lifts100 tonnes (110 US tons) and has a 60 metre (197-foot) main boom. A 16 metre (52-foot) bi-fold jib extends its reach, while the crane also includes reversing and Bird’s Eye View cameras and remote control. It meets the latest Euromot 5/Tier 4 Final engine standards and can be run on HVO diesel.

“The two new cranes combine compact dimensions and excellent lifting capacities – we are extremely impressed,” said Adrian Keck, managing director of Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung. “They have done a first-class job on their first projects. We equipped them with the Maxbase system for variable outrigger positions, and they are extremely user-friendly thanks to the intuitive boom configurator. Their features and benefits, combined with category-leading lift and reach capacities, enable us to use them on a wide range of applications.”

The GMK5250XL-1 lifts 250 tonnes (275 US tons). Its one-engine design reduces diesel consumption by around 30 per cent compared to previous models, which also lowers emissions and operating costs. The crane’s 78.5 metre (257 foot) main boom extends to a reach of up to 109 metres (358 feet) with its jib.
