Anjeon moves 3,000 tonne patrol ship

26 April 2021

The ship will be used as a patrol vessel by the Korea Coast Guard and it includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)

South Korean transportation specialist Anjeon Enterprise used self-propelled electronically steered modular vehicles (MSPE) to move a 3,000 tonne patrol ship.

The ship was moved approximately 300 metres from the shipyard of Korean steel specialist SamKang M&T in Goseong, South Korea, to a nearby floating dock.

To move the ship 96 axle lines of Cometto MSPE Evo2 divided into 16 6-axle units of MSPE EVO2 6/4/2.43 were used. The Evo2 has a payload capacity of 60 tonnes per axle line. As support accessory, four Power Pack Units and two spacers were added.

The ship will be used as a patrol vessel by the Korea Coast Guard (KCG) in Namhae. It replaces the Jaemin Patrol Ship No. 1, which was built in 1988 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. One of the features of the new ship is that it includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
