Felbermayr acquires Hoffmann fleet

Austrian lifting, transport and construction engineering specialist Felbermayr acquired the equipment fleet of heavy lifting logistics company Hoffmann Spezialtransporte.

Chemnitz, Germany-based Hoffmann transports and installs heavy components and industrial equipment. Proprietor Olaf Hoffmann has retired from the day-to-day operations.

“The acquisition of these machines represents a valuable addition to our existing portfolio. Particularly in the area of complex heavy assembly projects, this expands our technical capacities and allows us to support our customers even more comprehensively and flexibly in the future,” said Peter Stöttinger, Felbermayr Transport- und Hebetechnik managing director.

Lifting and moving equipment

Equipment in the deal includes two 1,000 tonne capacity heavy lifting hydraulic gantry systems, with associated steel beams and other structural steel components, and Sefiro self propelled transport and lifting equipment from Greiner.

The extra equipment further strengthens Felbermayr Transport- und Hebetechnik’s capability. It already has subsidiaries Jozef Hermans in the Netherlands and Wimmer Maschinentransporte in Germany, operating in this market.

“In the heavy lifting sector, projects are highly individualised. This additional equipment allows us to tailor our technical solutions even more precisely to the specific requirements of each project,” explained Kees Kompier, head of engineered solutions at Felbermayr.
