Friday roundup: Bauma lowdown, crane career resource, construction trends
13 February 2025

Bauma 2025 is just around the corner, set to bring the global crane and transport industry together in Munich, Germany. On Monday, Crane and Transport Briefing reported a taste of what will be on show, ahead of our final update next month. In just two months the gates to Bauma 2025 will open to the world. You can be sure there will be many surprises in store for buyers of cranes, rigging gear, trailers and related products and services. The element of surprise is an important factor in new product development and roll out. While manufacturers remain tight-lipped about their latest innovations, we’ve gathered exclusive details on what’s in store, alongside a few hints about what to expect.
You may have noticed Tuesday’s CTB looked a bit different. To enhance the service we are already providing, the Briefing on Tuesdays will include the stories from the World Crane Week email newsletter. Some of you already receive this so it will mean you get all the best news, updates and thought-provoking articles together in one mail on that day instead of two.
In a bold effort to attract and inspire the next generation of crane professionals, the NCCCO Foundation has launched My Crane Career, a dynamic online platform designed to support both aspiring workers and industry recruiters. Wednesday’s CTB detailed the new resource packed with interactive tools, career path insights, inspiring videos and ready-to-share social media content. MyCraneCareer.org is a one-stop resource for anyone curious about the world of cranes and rigging.
Thursday’s CTB featured a comprehensive analysis of the global construction equipment market, highlighting key trends shaping the industry, by specialist forecaster Off-Highway Research. These include regional market shifts, technological advances and evolving government policies. The latest report notes that while North America remains the largest market by dollar value, emerging economies like India are experiencing significant growth. Factors such as electrification, automation and supply chain dynamics continue to influence equipment demand worldwide, the report suggests.
