Mammoet undertook five heavy lifts during the construction of a refinery at Panipat, India.

The Netherlands-based crane services giant used its 3,070 tonne capacity super heavy lift Mammoet Sliding Gantry (MSG) at the construction site, about 100 km north of New Delhi.

Transporting the MSG to the site was quite a task, said the company, because Mumbai, the nearest port, was 1,800 km away. It took the trucks, carrying 115 containers, seven days to reach their destination.

The MSG was rigged with 2,000 tonnes of counterweight. A 100 m tall wash tower, weighing almost 1,100 tonnes, was the biggest lift.

Mammoet MSG 80 specifications:

Maximum load moment: 75,242 tonne-metres
Lifting capacity: 3,070 tonnes
Maximum radius: 160 m
Main boom: 46.9 - 107.0 m
Jib: 15.4 - 70.3 m
