Manitex International announced that its Manitex Liftking subsidiary was recently awarded orders valued around US$3.1 million for specialized material handling equipment from military and international customers. Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2012.

"We have seen good, but seasonal order flow from our military customers this year and we see indications of demand remaining firm throughout this calendar year," said Mark Aldrovandi, responsible for Manitex Liftking's military, government and international agency sales. "This repeat business from long-standing customers is testament to our customers' high level of satisfaction with our specialized products."

Chairman and CEO, Dave Langevin, said, "Even in the absence of a flourishing global economy, we continue to execute our strategy to position Manitex to serve diversified and specialized niche markets. The emphasis we've placed on augmenting our presence in select international markets continues to serve us well and affords us opportunities to improve our top and bottom line financial performance throughout this year and in periods to come."
