Manitowoc and partners raise funds for veterans with PTSD

The companies are launching a program to raise funds for veterans through donation matching, limited-edition shirts, symbolic challenges and employee support.

Manitowoc, MGX Equipment Services and Aspen Equipment have launched a new initiative, Empowering Warriors & Raising Hope, to raise funds and awareness for veterans living with PTSD. Proceeds will benefit Camp Hope, a Houston-based treatment and housing facility run by the PTSD Foundation of America.

Spearheaded by Manitowoc’s Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG), the campaign features a series of events centered around the number 22, which is the average number of U.S. veteran suicides per day. On June 26, employees at Manitowoc’s Shady Grove campus will walk 22 laps, with a Grove TMS800-2 crane hoisting the American and military branch flags at the start and finish line. Participants can also take on their own “22”-themed challenges, such as pushups or writing thank-you notes.

Across Manitowoc’s Milwaukee headquarters, MGX, and Aspen locations, employees will participate in similar efforts, including assembling care packages and virtual engagement for remote workers.

Limited-edition teal “22” shirts are available in the Manitowoc Cranes VERG store, with all proceeds going to Camp Hope. The Manitowoc Foundation will match all donations and shirt sales up to $25,000. A formal check presentation will be held September 10 at MGX Houston.
