Mountain Crane acquires Lennon Crane

Salt Lake City, Utah, USA-based Mountain Crane Service has acquired Lennon Crane and Equipment Company, further expanding its presence in the North American crane rental and sales market. The deal also brings with it Tadano distributorship responsibilities.

By acquiring Lennon Crane, the company is aligning with a business it has partnered with for years. “Good things happen when good people get together,” said Mountain CEO Paul Belcher. “As we combine our forces, we can leverage our strengths to expand equipment availability, technical expertise and industry-leading service to our customers.”

Based in Monroe, Washington, USA, Lennon Crane was founded in 1975 and built its reputation on bare crane rental and strong customer support. Its fleet is primarily Tadano rough terrain cranes from 35 to 160 US tons, as well as telescopic crawler cranes. Lennon was also Tadano America’s distributor in Washington and Oregon.

Gordon Lennon called the partnership “a great opportunity to enhance the resources and services available to our customers,” while Scott Lennon emphasized Lennon’s core Pacific Northwest business would remain unchanged. “Late model bare rentals, sales of quality new and used equipment and great service – that’s who we are. We’re excited to continue as a Tadano distributor under the Mountain name,” he said.

As part of the transition, Mountain has already placed a significant Tadano stock order to ensure no disruption in equipment, parts or service availability.  Both companies stressed that Lennon Crane will continue to focus on bare rentals and sales, with no plans to introduce operated or taxi crane services in the region.
