Texas-based Panhandle Steel Erectors, Inc. has added a Tadano 160-ton (145-tonne) ATF 130G-5 to its fleet.

The new all-terrain crane joins a fleet of Tadano cranes at the firm’s Amarillo, Texas headquarters. Panhandle Steel also owns a 110-ton (100-tonne) capacity ATF90G-5, a 130 ton (118-tonne) ATF 110G-5 and a 250-ton (227-tonne) ATF 220G-5 workhorse.

The ATF 130G-5 is a versatile addition to the Panhandle Steel fleet. With a lift capacity of 160 tons (145 tonnes), the crane features a 196.8 ft (60 m) boom and a 105 ft (32 m) jib, which translates to quick set-up and a long reach.

“The load charts on this crane are just what we need when working with cellphone towers and transformers as well as providing the spindle height and lifting capacity necessary for wind turbine jobs,” said Brandon Hillard, safety director and trainer for Panhandle Steel. “With the versatility of several counterweight configurations, we are able to price out our jobs so we know the exact amount of trucks to use.”

Panhandle Steel provides crane services, steel erection, fabrication, concrete panel erection, wind and solar energy and industrial support and maintenance.
