Sarens Kazakhstan is entering a new phase of growth following the signing of a long-term financing agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The loan of up to €25 million will enable the company to expand its heavy lifting, engineered transportation, and installation capabilities across Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region.

As demand increases for renewable energy infrastructure and cross-border logistics capacity, the need for reliable, high-capacity lifting and transport solutions continues to grow. With this financing, Sarens Kazakhstan will invest in additional high-capacity cranes, an expanded trailer fleet, and specialised transport equipment. The funding will also support working capital, ensuring operational readiness as project pipelines accelerate.

One of the most significant impacts of this expansion will be in the wind energy sector. The equipment financed through the EBRD facility is expected to support the installation of at least 11,75 GW of additional wind capacity. This directly contributes to Kazakhstan’s ambition to increase the share of renewables in its total energy output to 15 per cent by 2030. For Sarens, this represents not only fleet growth but also a tangible contribution to the region’s energy transition.

At the same time, the expansion strengthens Sarens’ position in supporting logistics infrastructure linked to the Transcaspian Corridor, an increasingly strategic trade route connecting Europe and Central Asia. As cargo volumes and infrastructure investments rise along this corridor, engineered heavy lifting and transport solutions become essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and timely project delivery.

The structure of the EBRD financing provides long-term maturity that is currently not widely available through local commercial banks. This creates the stability required for capital-intensive investments and reinforces Sarens’ long-term commitment to Kazakhstan.

For Sarens Kazakhstan, this development is more than a financial milestone. It marks a strategic step forward in reinforcing its presence in a market where renewable energy growth and logistics connectivity are reshaping the industrial landscape. With strengthened capacity and sustained international backing, Sarens continues to position itself as a key enabler of complex infrastructure projects across Central Asia.
