A new series of higher capacity self tracking semi low loader trailers has been launched by Broshuis.

The Dutch specialized transport equipment manufacturer claims a 15 per cent weight reduction over preceding models. Advanced design and high quality materials are responsible for the improvements, the company said.

Payload is higher as a result of the lower tare weight and the trailer is stronger. Both the 3- and 4-axle extendable semi low loader models are lighter, including ones with ramps. The company said the new trailers have a design life of more than 20 years.

“We are proud to announce that we have achieved a weight reduction of up to 15 %, providing customers with a significant payload advantage,” said Harold Vorsteveld (CEO). “Additionally, we have adjusted the axle spacing to ensure compliance with 9 tonnes per axle under EU regulations, further increasing the load capacity of a 3-axle semi low loader by an additional 3 tonnes.”

Standard and custom features

Features of the new models include a heavy duty load floor and widening supports that can be extended. To protect the cables and hoses when extending the trailer there are energy chains along the length. These also help improve reliability. Available tyre options allow a range of loading heights between 780 and 880 mm.

For cargo securement Broshuis fits TÜV-certified 10 tonne lashing rings and there are 32 mm lashing holes in the side beams. Options include a range of ramps, stainless steel storage boxes, and a central lubrication system.
