Bandshire adds Böcker AK 42 and AK 48 truck cranes to UK fleet

Huddersfield-based crane hire and contract lift provider Bandshire has strengthened its fleet with the addition of two new Böcker truck cranes, the AK 42 and AK 48.

Both models represent Böcker’s latest generation of truck cranes and are designed for improved stability, flexibility and efficiency on confined jobsites. The cranes feature high-tensile steel boom profiles, continuous slewing and minimal tail swing for working in restricted spaces. A new 180-degree jib position and “tower crane” function allow the boom to be erected at a 90-degree angle, enabling horizontal load placement directly onto buildings.

The AK 42 offers a maximum boom and jib reach of 42 metres, while the AK 48 extends to 49 metres. Both machines handle loads up to 6 tonnes. In line with UK road regulations, their front overhang remains under two metres, eliminating the need for an attendant during transport.
“Since purchasing our first AK 46 in 2018, Böcker has become a major part of our fleet, serving our customers well with its versatility and quick set-up times,” said Ian Blacker, founder, Bandshire. “The decision to purchase two of Böcker’s latest and most innovative machines was a simple one, further enhancing our diverse fleet.”
