Dutch loader crane, hydraulics and materials handling manufacturing group Hyva’s acquisition by Jost has been completed.

The initial sale and purchase agreement was signed in late October 2024.

Jost is a manufacturer based in Germany specialising in products for commercial and agricultural vehicles, including fifth wheel couplings and container twist locks. Hyva’s range of products will add to Jost’s on-highway applications in the transport industry, plus off-highway applications in construction and agriculture.

Commenting on the acquisition Joachim Dürr, Jost Werke SE CEO, said, “With the Hyva brand as part of the Jost World, we are strengthening our business structure, customer base, and market positioning. Together, we will expand our global footprint, enrich our portfolio for transport and agriculture businesses, and boost our potential in the infrastructure industry.”

New chapter

For his part Alex Tan, Hyva CEO, said, “Joining the Jost World represents an exciting new chapter for Hyva. Our shared commitment to advancing technology and providing reliable and innovative solutions for transportation, agriculture, construction, mining, and environmental applications creates a strong foundation for mutual success. Together, we will drive growth and deliver even greater value to our customers globally.”

Jost said it will enter new market segments and add to its regional presence, especially in Asia and the Americas. New technology will also be a focus, “By pooling R&D expertise, Jost and Hyva will create an innovation platform focused on automated and digital solutions to meet emerging industry trends and evolving customer needs,” Jost said.

Since starting out in 1979 Hyva has been expanded into a global business operating in more than 110 countries. It has more than 3,000 employees and 14 production facilities in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy, and Mexico. It acquired loader crane manufacturer Amco Veba, also from Italy, in 2007 which, in turn had acquired fellow Italian loader crane manufacturer F.lli Ferrari in 2002.

Jost, now more than 70 years old, is known for fifth wheel couplings, turntables, king pins and container locks for commercial vehicles. Its brands include Rockinger, Tridec and Quicke. Markets served are both on and off highway sectors. It has more than 7,500 employees at sales and production sites in more than 35 countries.
