Johnson Arabia handles the modules

Precast concrete construction is a method still gaining ground in some parts of the world and expanding at scale in others. A recent construction project involving mobile crane rental from Johnson Arabia reflected the increased use of precast systems as a construction method in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Middle East, and the specialized lifting support required for such an approach.

The construction of a villa involved large structural modules that were manufactured off-site being assembled on-site using high-capacity lifting equipment.

Johnson Arabia deployed a 700 tonne capacity Terex Demag AC 700 wheeled mobile telescopic crane to handle the modules, which weighed from 80 to 120 tonnes each.

The crane operations focused on lifting the precast modules and positioning them within tight tolerances, and managing multiple lifts to accelerate the progress of the construction work.

Alignment of the components was carried out using guide systems and controlled rigging techniques, with the engineering team – led by Mohammed Fareed Naser and Sreethu Thulaseedharan – factoring in load charts and ground bearing pressure analysis to ensure the safety and accuracy of each lift.
