The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has taken delivery of 22 Effer model 340 6S articulating cranes. The transaction was valued at $7 million and represents the largest public agency articulating crane transaction in the US in 2007, according to Effer.

The machines are mounted on Crane Carrier Corporation low cab forward chassis, and feature radio remote controls for the crane functions. LADWP will primarily use the cranes for lifting and hauling in its efforts to supply electricity, gas and water services to residents and businesses in the Los Angeles area. Effer cranes are distributed in the US by North American Lifting Equipment, based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The Southern California dealer responsible for the sale was Terex Utilities, in Fontana, CA. Terex Utilities is the servicing Effer dealer for LADWP. Effer articulating cranes are manufactured in Bologna, Italy.
