Manitowoc and NFT launch Gulf-wide crane safety campaign

Manitowoc and dealer NFT brought safety training directly to construction crews in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, engaging hundreds of workers across six major project sites.

Crane manufacturer Manitowoc, working alongside long-time regional Potain dealer NFT, completed a safety campaign spanning key construction sites in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The initiative gathered hundreds of operators, engineers and safety personnel for direct, on-site sessions aimed at reinforcing safe lifting practices.

In total, around 450 workers across six major projects took part. Among the sites visited was the Trojena Ski Village in Saudi Arabia, part of the vast Neom development, where a Potain MCT 1105 and MCT 275 K12 are operating. In the UAE, the campaign reached crews working on the Sobha Hartland 2 and Sobha One residential developments, the Binghatti Granada mixed-use project in Dubai, and Abu Dhabi’s ADEK Riyadh Schools project and Reem Hillz residential community.

The sessions were jointly led by Manitowoc and NFT staff representing sales, service and administration teams. Discussions were based on the Potain Safety Handbook and used scenario-driven examples to highlight key practices such as crane audio and hand signal use, defining safe work zones, and reinforcing personal accountability on site.

“Being present on site is one of the most meaningful ways we can support our customers and the people operating our cranes every day,” said Jean-François Amet, global dealer and development director at Manitowoc. “These sessions weren’t just about safety rules—they were about open dialogue, exchanging ideas, and strengthening trust.”

The campaign also invited participants to share feedback and recommendations, with the goal of encouraging continuous improvement and collaboration across sites. Manitowoc said the effort reflects its wider customer support strategy, which emphasizes ongoing training, engagement and lifecycle service to ensure safe and productive crane operations.
