South State expands heavy equipment fleet with Kobelco crawler
25 September 2024
South State, a heavy highway, paving, and utility contractor headquartered in Bridgeton, New Jersey, USA, has acquired a 2024 Kobelco CK2000G-3 crawler crane. The purchase was facilitated through Empire Crane Company, based in North Syracuse, NY.
The CK2000G-3 is a versatile 200-US ton crane with 200 feet of boom that is the second largest in Kobelco’s G-3 crawler crane lineup. The “G-3” in the CK2000’s name references its G-modes, which include the auto idle stop system, energy saving winch control system and the engine RPM limitation system, the company said. These features reflect South State’s ongoing dedication to safety and environmental sustainability.
“The CK2000G-3, at least for the moment, will be playing a big role in our expansion of marine work and is currently being used as a barge crane,” said Carlos Cajeira, crane and marine equipment superintendent, South State.
